    Description

    I purchased this at an estate sale and was told that it was an original WWII East German backpack.  The house was full of antique collectibles with a clear focus on military items.  After purchasing the backpack I did more extensive internet research I've come across similiar bags...the details are close but not quite what I have here.
    So...I stand corrected.  A kind individual on eBay told me that this is certainly is East German, combat, but
    it is from the 1960's.
    It is in very good condition overall; perhaps it is from that era but appears to have never been used.  The metal is tarnished but still fully operational.  There are a couple minor blemishes on the outer canvas.  On the inside there is a full vinyl lining (the reproductions don't always have this).  Also on the inside there is a 'cut' in the material, please see last photo.
    Heavy duty canvas exterior, leather details on the back straps, inside vinyl lining.
