My basic rate for refurbishing a simple OB meter in decent shape is .00. If you would like a simple quote on your meter please email me detailed pictures and a good description of what you have and I will get back to you as quickly as possible.
Do Not
purchase my item, contact me first and I will explain how to purchase the service you will be needing.
I currently have a fair supply of General Electric and Westinghouse OB meter parts should you need something replaced. I will not charge you an arm or leg for a replacement part and you will not have to spend your hard earned money on another meter just to obtain the part you need. I have already done that for you. Unfortunately I have zero inventory of GE & OB meter glass covers.
Here is what my basic service for an OB or GE I-14,15,16, Sangamo HF includes:
1. Basic diagnostic of the meter
2. Complete disassembly then prep meter base and frame for painting. If necessary strip off all old paint, wash, prime all metal, paint meter any color of your choice then add a protective coat of clear or semi-gloss.
3. Remove nickel plating to expose brass parts then polish all brass and metal parts to a high luster. Most non-visible metal and brass parts are cleaned and given a light brush finish. High polished brass parts are coated with high gloss lacquer.
4. Remove all paint and oxidation from meter glass cover and polish to a high luster. If the class cover has a decent metal band I will polish it.
5. Reassemble meter, if necessary replace disk ball bearing (included), oil all gears and disk guide pin with clock oil, energize if possible and check for proper meter rotation.
You pay for all shipping fees to and from. Of course shipping costs will vary because of weight, meter size and mailing address. Some of my customers will purchase a meter and have the seller mail it to me thus saving on part of the shipping costs. Once meter is completed and ready for return shipment I recommend additional insurance. It will be worth it.
Send me pictures of your meter(s) and I will give you an honest quote and timeline. Thank you for taking the time to read this long description.
